KITE SURFING PAGE:Anyone who has previously visited www.cabarete.org will know that it was a mess, that lay unfinished for a couple of years. This was one of the 'unfinished' pages. During that time I spoke with the owners of a few kitesurf businesses, asking for a write up of the history of kitesurfing in Cabarete and perhaps make this page more interesting to folk who actually surf. Unfortunately, this never happened. I'd guess that busy lives in an unhurried town, where mañana has a sense of urgency has resulted in no-one producing anything... So I just hope you enjoy a selection of my photos taken from Cabarete Beach over the years. Most of them are kites, with an occasional pretty girl just for balance! There are 150 images.  From February 19th to 22nd there is a competition with a difference in Cabarete. This one is designed to raise money for a number of children's charities in the Dominican Republic. If you are in Cabarete during that period, get yourself along, enjoy the specticle (or join in if you kitesurf) and put your hand in your pocket... There is going to be live music there too, so it should be a great party! Have fun AND do good at the same time? That's a win-win situation! |
